Sustainability begins at home

I heard from a client, wherein he mentioned that best way of sustainable promotion, is to start from home (his own construction site, in this case)

He, therefore, made it mandatory to reduce soil erosion,  in all project sites being developed by their company (SPG Group)

He requested to team to educate the laborers, in terms of collecting the soil from site, dump it in a truck, and re-use it to plant saplings along the Mumbai- Pune  Expressway.

Environment sensitivity’ , a part of elementary science

I dont remember exactly how long ago , but it was a science class, back when i was in school.

Our teacher was explaining the difference between biodegradable & non-biodegradable waste. She spoke about extensive use of plastic affecting Mother earth.

I don’t recollect whether it was the topic itself or my teacher that was inspiring  however the ‘theme’ indeed, left a huge impact on me ever since.

Plastic was just the beginning , eventually I was drawn towards many other environment aspects viz.  saving water, paper, trees, & the planet earth by GOING GREEN !

Poisoned Nectar

A instance which demonstrated where man go to any extent to just kill the fear of some adverse consequence of some thing happening in future and on they way creating a damge which would be felt immediately.

This is a case of people killing the honey bees and there colony in a village by spraying pesticides, so that they do not create havoc at a function that was being organized near later in the night.

This instance also shows that the protector, who needs the help of these being the most, can also turn into a destroyer with a short sited vision.

Interesting thoughts from a Nature Lover !!

I have always been a nature lover, but wasn’t too sure on the road map  on how to go green!

Thanks to CII Godrej GBC , Hyderabad for giving me the opportunity to organize ‘green’ training programmes. The program themes involved various fascinating and simple ideas to go green and  inspired me to implement few of these green ideas in my new home, which is under construction. I also realized that that “going green” really isn’t all that difficult !
